Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar today to launch the foundation stone for AIIMS Darbhanga, along with a range of development projects across the state valued at approximately Rs.12,100 crore. In Darbhanga, he will inaugurate, lay foundation stones, and dedicate various projects aimed at enhancing healthcare, transportation, and energy infrastructure. As a significant boost to the healthcare system in the region, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for AIIMS Darbhanga, an advanced medical facility with an investment of over ₹1,260 crore. The new AIIMS campus will feature a super-specialty hospital, AYUSH block, medical and nursing colleges, residential areas, and other essential facilities. This healthcare institution will provide high-quality tertiary services to people in Bihar and surrounding areas. To further support regional development, PM Modi will inaugurate several National Highway projects in Bihar, worth around ₹5,070 crore. These projects include the opening of the four-lane Galgalia-Araria section of NH-327E, which offers an alternative route from Araria on NH-27 to West Bengal at Galgalia. Additionally, he will inaugurate two Rail Over Bridges (ROBs) on NH-322 and NH-31, enhancing connectivity. A new bridge on NH-110 at Bandhuganj, linking Jehanabad to Bihar Sharif, will also be inaugurated. PM Modi will lay the foundation for eight additional National Highway projects, including a two-lane road with paved shoulders from Ramnagar to Rosera, and projects connecting Bihar’s borders to West Bengal, and other areas. In the railway sector, he will initiate multiple projects totaling over ₹1,740 crore. The foundation stone for the Sonenagar Bypass Railway Line in Aurangabad district, valued at ₹220 crore, will be laid. Additionally, he will dedicate several railway projects, including the gauge conversion of the Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar Rail section and the Darbhanga Bypass Railway Line, to reduce congestion at Darbhanga Junction. These rail upgrades aim to improve connectivity across the region. PM Modi will also flag off train services in the Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar section, providing access to job opportunities, education, and healthcare in nearby cities through new MEMU train services. He will inaugurate 18 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations, promoting affordable generic medicines and reducing healthcare costs for passengers. In the petroleum sector, PM Modi will launch initiatives worth over ₹4,020 crore. Among them is the development of a City Gas Distribution network across five districts, including Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Sitamarhi, and Sheohar, enabling household access to Piped Natural Gas. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a new bitumen manufacturing unit at the Barauni Refinery, which will produce bitumen domestically, reducing dependency on imports.
