NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, November 19, 2022. As per schedule, the PM will dedicate 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power to the Nation at around 9:30 AM, and hewill also officially open Donyi Polo Airport near Itanagar. After that, he will embark on Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where at around 2 PM, he would officially open the "Kashi Tamil Sangamam." The Prime Minister will open the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh, "Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar," in a significant move to improve connectivity in the North-East. The airport's name pays homage to Arunachal Pradesh's longstanding indigenous veneration of the Sun (known as "Donyi") and the Moon (known as "Polo") as well as the state's traditions and rich cultural history. The airport, which is the first new airport in Arunachal Pradesh, cost more than 640 crore rupees to create over an area of more than 690 acres. The airport is excellent for daytime operations in all conditions because of its 2300 m runway. The airport terminal is a state-of-art structure that supports resource recycling, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, as per report. The construction of a new airport in Itanagar will help the region's economic development by increasing connectivity and serving as a stimulus for the expansion of trade and tourism. The 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station will also be dedicated to the nation during the programme by the prime minister. The project, which was built in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh at a cost of more than Rs 8450 crore and over an area of more than 80 kilometres, will make Arunachal Pradesh a power-surplus state and improve the National Grid in terms of grid stability and integration. This initiative will make a significant contribution to the nation's achievement of its objective to enhance the adoption of green energy. Promotion of the concept of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" has been one of the government's main priority areas, guided by the prime minister's vision. A month-long programme called "Kashi Tamil Sangamam" is being organised in Kashi (Varanasi) and will be officially launched by the Prime Minister on November 19 in yet another endeavour that reflects this aim. The program's goal is to honour, affirm, and rediscover the long-standing ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, two of the most significant and venerable centres of learning in the nation. The programme intends to give individuals from all walks of life, such as academics, students, philosophers, traders, artisans, and artists from the two regions, the chance to come together, exchange their knowledge, cultures, and best practises, and learn from one another's experiences. Over 2500 delegates from Tamil Nadu will be visiting Kashi. They will take part in seminars, site visits, etc. to network with locals who share their interests, trades, and professions. In addition, Kashi will host a month-long exhibition showcasing handicrafts, ODOP items, books, documentaries, cuisine, art forms, history, tourist destinations, etc. from the two regions. The project is in line with NEP 2020's emphasis on fusing the richness of Indian Knowledge Systems with contemporary knowledge systems.
