Uttar Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Noida International Airport (NIA) at Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on November 25, at 1 p.m.. Uttar Pradesh will become India's only state with five international airports, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
The expansion of the airport is in keeping with the Prime Minister's objective of increased connectivity and a future-ready aviation sector. "This great vision has placed a special emphasis on the state of Uttar Pradesh, which is seeing the development of many new international airports, including the recently inaugurated Kushinagar airport and the under-construction international airport at Ayodhya," it stated.
This will be the second international airport in the Delhi NCR area. It will aid in the decongestion of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). The airport is strategically positioned, according to the PMO, and will serve residents of cities such as Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Faridabad, and the surrounding territories.
Northern India's logistics gateway will be the airport. The airport would be a game-changer for Uttar Pradesh due to its size and capacity. It will help position Uttar Pradesh on the global logistics map by revealing the state's potential to the rest of the globe. It went on to say that for the first time in India, an airport has been designed with an integrated multi-modal cargo hub, with the goal of lowering total logistics costs and time.
