New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written an open letter to sarpanches across the country to mark the completion of eight years of the government. He said in the letter, "In the last eight years, India has achieved new milestones in 'Gram Swaraj' and 'Empowerment of Panchayats'. He also called upon the sarpanches of villages across the country to achieve 100 per cent targets of the government's welfare schemes, conserve water and make the upcoming Yoga Day special. In fact, the Prime Minister wrote in the letter, "Choose an ancient or tourist spot in your village for yoga. Also, select a pond or water body anywhere in the area and include everyone in it.'' He also requested to share its pictures so that other people get inspiration from him. In fact, the Prime Minister wrote in the letter, "People celebrate Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. In the last few years, pictures of Yoga Day have made every Indian feel proud. He said that the main theme of this year's Yoga Day is 'Yoga for Humanity'. During the Corona pandemic, people realised the importance of health in their lives and came to know how big a role yoga plays in it. Further, stressing on the need to save every drop of water, he asked the heads of the villages to "continue their efforts in this direction and take all possible steps to conserve rainwater". He further said that in order to achieve this objective, the government has resolved to build 75 Amrit Sarovar in every district on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence. Modi, who has often insisted on achieving 100 per cent of all the ambitious projects of the central government, told sarpanches, "They have a very big role to play in this. Apart from this, he asked the sarpanches to speed up their efforts so that no one is deprived of the benefits of government schemes.'' In fact, he said, "When the full benefits of the schemes reach every person in the village, then the whole country will prosper along with the village.
