PM Modi arrives to take stock of storm affected Odisha, announces help of 500 crores

Bhubaneswar: PM Modi has announced a help of Rs 500 crore for Odisha affected by super cyclone Amfan. PM Modi made this announcement after taking an aerial tour of the storm affected areas on Friday. Earlier, PM Modi who visited Odisha after visiting West Bengal was welcomed at the airport by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, CM Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Pratap Sarangi, Chief Secretary AK Tripathi, DGP Anhay and others.

PM Modi went from here with the Governor and CM of the state to take stock of the cyclone affected districts in a special helicopter of the Air Force. PM Modi made an aerial tour of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore districts. Union ministers Pradhan and Sarangi went for an aerial survey in another helicopter. After returning from there, PM Modi also held a meeting on the situation of cyclone and the steps taken for relief and rehabilitation in the affected areas.

Due to the Amfan cyclone, houses, power system-related infrastructure, crops, etc. have been severely damaged in four coastal districts and some areas of North Mayurbhanj. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi made an aerial survey of the cyclone affected West Bengal and also inspected the situation in the neighboring state.
