New Delhi: Between the opposition and the resignation of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur, the Agriculture Bill 'Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce Promotion and Simplification Bill 2020' and 'Farmers Empowerment and Protection Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Bill 2020 ' have been passed during the Lok Sabha proceedings till 9.45 pm on Thursday. Now, these bills will go to the upper house. PM Narendra Modi termed the Agricultural Reforms Bill as an important moment. He said that it will free the farmers from middlemen. The PM attacked the opponents and said that a lot of powers are engaged in confusing the farmers. PM Modi has termed these bills as historic. PM Modi said that the passing of historic Agriculture Reform bills in the Lok Sabha is an important moment for the farmers and agriculture sector of the country. These bills will truly free the farmers from middlemen and all barriers. He said that "I assure my farmer brothers and sisters that the minimum support price (MSP) and government procurement will continue. These bills are really going to strengthen the farmers by giving them many more options". He also said that "With this Agriculture reform bills, farmers will get new opportunities to sell their crops, which will increase their profits. Our agriculture sector will get the benefit of modern technology".
