PM Modi's letter to all village heads of the country, appeal to make 'Jal Jeevan Mission' a mass movement

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has written to all the village heads and sarpanches to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission effectively. PM Modi has told in his letter how this mission has created history through public participation. Through this mission, not only will the problem of water supply be solved, but it will also help in dealing with water borne diseases like cholera, dysentery, diarrhea, encephalitis, typhoid etc.

PM Modi wrote that when cattle are provided safe and clean water, it not only improves their health, but also improves their productivity. In this way the income of the families also improves. PM Modi has urged people and Gram Panchayats to make Jal Jeevan Mission a mass movement. PM Modi has written this letter at a time when the country is taking steps towards becoming self-reliant by combating the corona epidemic.

The letter mentions the efforts made by the central government to provide roads, housing, toilets, gas connections, electricity, bank account and pension to all people in the last six years. PM Modi described how Jal Jeevan Mission has emerged as a program in which the planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of village communities has a role through which the availability of potable water can reach every household.
