World is a better place today because of the United Nations : PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi delivered his speech at a high-level meeting held on Monday on the occasion of the 75 anniversary of the United Nations. Meanwhile, PM Modi said that 75 years ago, the horrors of war would have a new hope. For the first time in human history, an institution was created for the whole world. As the founding signatory of the UN Charter, India was part of that great approach. He said that it reflected the philosophy of ' Vasudev Kutumbakam ' of India, which sees creation as a family. Prime Minister Modi said that our world is a better place today because of the United Nations.

We pay tribute to all those who worked for peace and development and contributed to its peacekeeping operations under the flag of the United Nations. In which India is making its contribution by being a pioneer. The announcements or work that we are making today are going to be accepted. But there is still more need to be done on the matter of ensuring conflict-fighting development, climate change, reducing inequality and levece with digital technologies.

He said that there is also a need for reform of the United Nations under these announcements and actions. We will not be able to fight today's challenges with old structures. Without comprehensive reforms, there is a crisis of trust of the United Nations. For today's interrelated world, we need a reformed multilateralism that reflects today's realities, gives voice to all stakeholders, faces contemporary challenges and focuses on human welfare. Prime Minister Modi said that Hindustan as a founding signatory to the Charter of the United Nations was part of that great approach. Hindustan has always reflected its philosophy of ' Vasudev Kutumbakam ', assuming the world as a family. A lot has been achieved today, but the original mission is still incomplete, much remains to be done and achieved.
