New Delhi: The cross-border war between the government and the opposition over the agriculture bill has begun. Amidst the uproar, the bill has been passed, but the opposition is still adamant on withdrawing it. On the other hand, farmers are being altered and not to get influenced by farmers. In this order, the central government today advertised the agriculture bill in the country's major newspapers, directing farmers to not believe in opposition's lies.
In all these advertisements, the government has tried to take a stand against the confusion about the agriculture bill or the opposition's claim. It also shows a photo of PM Modi. The advertisement of the government has been targeted by former Union Minister P Chidambaram. In a tweet, Chidambaram wrote that "Government has released advertisements defending the Farm Bills. One line in the advertisement says that ‘One Nation One Market’ will give freedom to the farmers".
Congress leader Chidambaram wrote, "What do the Bills do to create thousands of Farmers’ markets in large villages and small towns? Thousands of markets will give freedom to the farmers". He wrote "If the government’s intention is to guarantee MSP, why is there no clause in the Bills that stipulates that the “price shall not be less than the MSP” for that produce?"
