PM Modi condemns terrorist attack in Vienna, says India stands with Austria

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Austrian capital Vienna, saying that in this moment of sorrow, India stands firmly with Austria. In Vienna, gunmen opened fire on people moving outside before the lockdown was enforced on Monday evening. At least two people, including an attacker, have been killed and 15 others injured in this terrorist attack.

PM Modi took to Twitter and wrote, "I am shocked and saddened by the cowardly terrorist attack in Vienna." India stands with Austria in this hour of grief. My condolences are with the victims and their families. Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurien strongly condemned the attack, saying it was a difficult time for his republic. He reiterated the resolve that the police would take decisive action against the culprits of this scandalous terrorist attack.

In connection with this attack, US President Donald Trump said, 'Our condolences are with the people of Europe who are constantly facing terrorist attacks. These attacks against innocent people should be stopped. America stands with its allies Austria, France and the whole of Europe in this war against radical Islamic terrorists. '
