PM Modi congratulates Pham Minh Chinh on becoming PM of Vietnam

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has congratulated former Vietnamese security officer and local Communist Party leader Pham Minh Chinh (Pham Minh Chinh) on becoming pm. PM Modi has expressed confidence that his efficient direction will further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that the two leaders held phone talks and reviewed the progress of bilateral relations. At the same time, views were exchanged on various issues of cooperation. According to PMO, PM Modi cited the two countries' common views on an open, inclusive, peaceful, and rule-based Indian Ocean region, saying, "The India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership can contribute to promoting regional peace, prosperity, and development."

In this context, PM Modi also cited that India and Vietnam are also members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). During the talks, PM Modi also thanked Vietnam for the assistance provided by Vietnam during the crisis of the second wave of Covid-19 in India. At the same time, the two leaders said they would continue to discuss and cooperate with each other to combat the epidemic.
