Police took six people into custody on rape charges

In Rape seven girls, the Kalpetta police have taken six persons in custody in their connection to the matter. The victims of an orphanage at Kalpetta in Wayanad for over two months were sexually assaulted by the accused.

Under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), the police have filed 11 cases. The medical reports of the girls gave a confirmation about the rape with the victims.

As per the Manorama News report, the girls aged under 15 were assaulted while they were returning to their hostel. The report as per the sources news said “The culprits used to lure the children to a shop by offering them sweets and sexually assaulted them”
