Deoghar: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday gifted Jharkhand several schemes worth Rs 16,800 crores, including airports, and AIIMS. PM Modi, while addressing a public meeting after offering prayers to Baba Baidyanath, cautioned the people of the country against those who are doing shortcuts. Prime Minister Modi cautioned people against promises like free electricity-free bus travel, saying that such promises one day only make the people miserable. He also said that the shortcuts are bound to be short-circuited. Terming the politics of shortcuts as a challenge for the country, Prime Minister Modi said, "It is very easy to take votes from the people by making populist promises. Shortcut adopters do not have to work hard. Nor do they have to think about the far-reaching consequences. A country whose politics is based on shortcuts. One day it gets a short circuit." PM Modi further said, "The politics of shortcuts destroys the country. In India, we have to stay away from such politics. If we have to take India forward, we have to be a master of hard work. The result of the shortcut is that many countries that became independent from India have overtaken.''
