The biggest turning point in his political career came when he was elected as the 13th President of India in 2012. For 5 years he continued to serve as the President of the country. After this, he completely got away from active politics. When Pranab 'Da' was awarded the Bharat Ratna Dr. Pranab Mukherjee has also been awarded the 'Bharat Ratna', India's highest national honor. In the year 2019, 'Pranab da' was awarded 'Bharat Ratna' by the hands of President Ramnath Kovind.
