Prem Chand Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan in BJP's Surprise Move

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) picked Prem Chand Bairwa as the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan. This decision came alongside the appointment of first-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma as the Chief Minister, forming a leadership trio that includes Diya Kumari as the other deputy.

Diya Kumari is also the BJP leader and the current Lok Sabha member from Rajsamand. In the 2013 Rajasthan Assembly Election, She won the Sawai Madhopur constituency by defeating heavyweight leader Kirodi Lal Meena with a margin of 7,532 votes.

Prem Chand Bairwa, a sitting BJP MLA representing the Dudu constituency, was born on August 31, 1969. He clinched victory in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly elections with an impressive margin of 35,743 votes. This 49-year-old BJP stalwart had previously defeated Babulal Nagar, a Congress leader, to secure his position in Dudu in the 2013 polls, winning by a margin of 33,720 votes against Hazari Lal Nagar, the Congress candidate.

Bairwa's academic background includes completing a Ph.D. from Rajasthan University in 2010. His declared assets stand at a valuation of Rs 3 crore, as reported by myneta.info.

The proposal for the CM-designate Bhajan Lal Sharma's appointment came from former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia. This proposal was presented in the presence of Union Minister Rajnath Singh, who led a team of three party central observers to oversee the decision-making process.
