New Delhi: In a press conference on the Corona crisis, the Health Ministry has said that the country has been witnessing a decline in active corona caese for the last 20 days. The ministry said that on May 3, there were 17.13% active cases in the country, now it has gone up to 11.12%. The recovery rate has also increased to 87.76%. So far, more than 23 million people have recovered in India. Health Ministry Joint Secretary Luv Agarwal said that 2,57,000 corona cases were filed in the country in the last 24 hours while 3,57,630 people recovered. He further said that 78% of new cases are being registered from 10 states. More than 10,000 cases are being registered daily in only 7 states. Luv Agarwal further said that while 6.96 Tests were being held daily in the country between February 13-19, now 19.46 Tests are being conducted daily. The positive rate has been steadily improving for the last two weeks. In the last 24 hours, 20,66,285 tests were conducted in the country. He said that there are 18 states where positivity is more than 15%, in which the positivity rate is continuously declining in almost all the states. There are 14 States with 5%-15% positivity, while 4 States have less than 5% positivity. More than one lakh active cases have come down to just 8 States. States with active cases between 50,000-1 lakh have gone up to 8.
