PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to address an event through video conference on World Environment Day on Saturday. According to a statement issued by the PM's office, the event is scheduled to be jointly organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The theme of this year's programme is ''Promoting Biofuels for Better Environment''. PMO said that in the midst of the programme, the PM is also scheduled to release the "Report of the Expert Committee on The Roadmap for Ethanol Blending in India during 2020-2025". In order to celebrate World Environment Day, The Government of India is scheduled to issue e-20 notification directing oil companies to sell ethanol mixed petrol with a percentage of up to 20% of ethanol and BIS specification relating to high ethanol blends E-12 and E-15 with effect from 1st April, 2023. Speaking on the occasion, the PM will launch a pilot project of distribution stations of E-100 at three locations in Pune, Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the PM will also interact with the farmers to know about their direct experiences under ethanol blended petrol and compressed biogas programmes.
