Kolkata: After the West Bengal elections, infighting in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also beginning to appear. Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh, who arrived for the party's organisational meeting, was surrounded by party booth level workers. BJP workers staged a fierce protest at Chuchura in Hooghly, surrounding Dilip Ghosh. Party workers were demanding the state president to dissolve the Hooghly district committee at the earliest and remove District Collector Gautam Chatterjee from office.

On the protest by BJP supporters, Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee has said that party workers are completely free to lodge their complaints with senior leaders. He also reminded booth level leaders that the party will not compromise on discipline. Locket Chatterjee has blamed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for entering a crowd of BJP supporters and indulging in violence.

However, Locket Chatterjee's allegation has been categorically rejected by the TMC. Hooghly District Magistrate of TMC said the BJP should look into its girebon before accusing anyone else. He instructed Locket Chatterjee and Dilip Ghosh to take over their homes and asked them to first take over their homes and then accuse someone else. The TMC president also cited the circumstances before the assembly elections.
