Prime Minister Modi's Address at UPGIS 2023: Focus on UP's Development Trajectory

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the BJP government's commitment to enhancing both the quality of life and business environment in Uttar Pradesh during his address on Monday. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for investment proposals received during the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023), which took place in February last year, Modi emphasized the state's transition from bureaucratic hurdles to a welcoming business climate under the double-engine government.

In his speech, Modi lauded Uttar Pradesh's progress in development and noted a significant reduction in crime rates over the past seven years. He highlighted the government's efforts towards the saturation of welfare schemes, equating it with "true justice and true secularism."

"We have given equal importance to improving the lives of citizens and facilitating business operations in Uttar Pradesh," Modi stated. "The objective of the double-engine government is to ensure that every eligible individual benefits from government schemes."

Referring to the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Modi emphasized the widespread dissemination of government welfare schemes across various regions of Uttar Pradesh. He hailed this approach as a manifestation of genuine justice and secularism.

Modi also commended Uttar Pradesh's burgeoning investment landscape, with investments pouring in across sectors. "We are gathered here with the determination to develop 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh' for a 'Viksit Bharat'," he remarked. "It is remarkable to witness the connectivity of lakhs of people from over 400 Vidhan Sabha seats of UP to this event through technology."

Reflecting on the state's transformation, Modi remarked on the previous challenges of crime and social unrest, contrasting them with the current positive investment and employment environment. He highlighted the significant influx of investment into Uttar Pradesh, a stark departure from the past perceptions of the state.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the government's commitment to Uttar Pradesh's development journey.
