CM Mann makes strict rules for weapons, decision taken in view of target killing

Chandigarh: In view of the continuous target killing in Punjab, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has issued an order regarding weapons. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made new rules regarding arms, according to which, a complete review of arms licenses will be done within the next 3 months. Along with this, there will be a ban on the public display of weapons, which means that now people will not be able to display weapons even on social media.  

According to the information received by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Punjab, all the arms licenses issued so far will be fully reviewed within the next 3 months. No new arms license shall be granted unless the DC is personally satisfied that exceptional grounds exist for doing so. 

According to the report, along with this, there will be strictness on the public display of weapons, including social media. Random searches will be conducted in different areas in the coming days. There will be strict restrictions on songs glorifying weapons or violence. FIR will be registered in these cases. Along with this, strict action will be taken against those who speak indecent language against any community.
