The state government has released the increased prices of sugarcane. In this regard, the Hon'ble Government has also issued a notification. In a statement issued by the state's Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, it has been told that during the crushing year 2022-23, the difference between the prices of Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) and State Agreed Price (SAP) will be fixed by the Punjab government and private sugar mills. The ratio of 2:1 has been fixed. In a statement issued by the Mann government, it has been said that the price of all varieties of sugarcane was fixed by the Central Government at Rs 305 per quintal, in which the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann-led government has decided to increase the quality of sugarcane. The price has been reduced to Rs 380 per quintal. Along with this, the price of medium-quality sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 370 and low-quality sugarcane at Rs 365 per quintal. The Agriculture Minister has further informed that the state government's share of Rs 50 per quintal will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of sugarcane farmers and all sugar mills will start crushing sugarcane from November 20, 2022.
