New Delhi: Passengers travelling by rail will soon get tea, lassi and food items in mud-baked, glass and other utensils at 400 railway stations. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) said that the Railway Ministry has decided to provide food and beverages to the passengers in Kulhad at 400 railway stations. This step will promote local and environmentally friendly products, as well as ban the use of plastic. This initiative will also help in increasing the income of the potters.

KVIC Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena has said that after this initiative of the Railways, it has been decided to give 30,000 electric chalk to the potters. In addition, we will also provide grinding machines to recycle and dispose of clay products. He said, 'We are giving 30,000 electric chalk this year. With this, 2 crore waste and clay items will be made every day. This process is expected to begin in the next 15 days.

KVIC has informed that Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari sent a letter to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in this regard last month, urging him to instruct the officials concerned about the use of pottery like kulhad at railway stations. did. Let us tell you that as a railway experiment, at the Varanasi and Rae Bareli railway stations of UP, since January this year, they were using clay pots. This initiative has helped in tackling the plastic problem at both the stations.
