Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has lifted the ban on admission to NRI quota in MBBS courses in state government and private medical colleges. The apex court also quashed the July 12 order of the single bench which had barred admission from NRI quota in medical colleges. A bench of justices Mohammad Rafiq and Narendra Singh issued the order on an appeal filed by the state government. On behalf of the state government, Advocate General M S Singhvi said that the state government had introduced NRI quota in medical colleges in 2015 by taking a policy decision in the cabinet. On April 29, 2019, the state government issued an order laying down rules and provisions for admission to NRI quotas. The state government had granted admissions to the PG till May 31, 2019, and the UG by July 5. In such a case, the order of admission from NRI quota of single bench government medical colleges may be canceled.
