Realstar Upendra adopts African Elephant from Mysuru zoo .

Challenging Star's recent endeavor to encourage animal adoption has yielded many great results. Many fans and followers have chipped in with valuable donations towards Karnataka's zoos and animal sanctuaries and a few celebs like Kavya Gowda too have made significant contributions in that regard. In the same spirit, actor Upendra has now come forward with his share of support and adopted an African Elephant to further amplify the cause.

"As per challenging star Darshan?s call we have adopted an African elephant and joined hands with him in his noble cause - Nimma Upendra," wrote Upendra who chose the Mysuru Sri Chamarajendra zoo for the adoption.

Very recently, along with the many fans who adopted several animals, a few of Kannada Film Industry insiders too came forward to help Darshan in the noble cause. Darshan's recent collaborator and 'Yajamana' producer Shyalaja Nag adopted a lion from the Mysuru zoo, and interestingly, the animal bears the name "Darshan". Similarly, actor Kavya Gowda too joined the long list and made her contribution by adopting a white peafowl from the Hampi zoo.

On the work front, both Upendra and Darshan acted alongside each other in the 2007 'Anatharu' wherein their roles of Rudra and Sathyaprakash received tremendous appreciation. The film, a remake of the Tamil hit 'Pithamagan', was directed by Sadhu Kokila.
