Mirnaa: I don’t want to be stuck doing films in just one language

After being part of films like Dinesh-starrer Kalavani Mappillai and Mohanlal’s Big Brother in Kollywood and Mollywood, respectively, Mirnaa says she’s excited about the kind of roles that are coming her way in these two industries now.

She says, “I am doing a suspense thriller next in Tamil. It’s a women-centric subject and I will be performing a lot of stunt sequences and even bike chases in it.  I am also part of a Malayalam film, for which I am learning kalari.  I am also doing another Malayalam film, the story of which is based on the concept of time-loop. The best part is that my roles in all of these projects are different from each other, and that’s what makes my job interesting”.

Mirnaa says “I don’t want to be stuck doing movies in just one language. I aspire to become a pan-Indian actor. I feel language shouldn’t be a barrier for actors.I used to do theatre when I was in school and college. I love dancing and I’m taking training in different dance forms. Whether it is dance, theatre, or movies, I just wanted to be on stage. In fact, it was the stage that sparked my interest in acting,”

“When you meet directors in person, you get a vibe from them. But with video narrations, it is tough to take a call. However, I am glad that we have these options now. With the boom in OTT platforms, there is a good change in the industry, too. We have seen so many interesting series and films and it has given confidence to so many creative people out there. Of course, nothing can beat the energy of viewing a film in the theatre. I know this year has been tough on all of us, but I am hopeful that the second half will be better.”
