Minneapolis: In response to George Floyd's death, late Thursday night rioters stormed the headquarters of the Minneapolis Third Police Precinct and opened fire on the building. The Associated Press reported, "Livestream video showed protesters entering the building, where alarms were sounded after the fire broke out." In a clip highlighted by NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Hawk, CNN showed that the police had overcome the fire after a lot of effort. Nick Poleman, a reporter for Pioneer Press, tweeted a video of the incident from the ground and wrote: "The protesters appear to have overrun the third precinct in Minneapolis. After the fence went down, officers loaded into squads and seemed to abandon the building. Protesters are now warning each other that the National Guard is on its way." Fox 9 executive producer Seth Kaplan posted a video on Twitter and wrote: "This is MPD's third Precinct incident. Fire is rising in the corner." Kaplan later said "The fire at MPD's Third Precinct was in a corner only 5 minutes ago. It has now spread to the entire building. With no fire brigade present at the scene, that building will be destroyed tonight." The protesters appear to have overrun the third precinct in Minneapolis.
