Robots can eliminate threat of Corona, study revealed

Due to Corona Virus (Covid-19) the hotel industry has also been badly affected, and many owners converted their hotels into quarantine centres at the time of the crisis. Now that many countries have started lifting restrictions, reopening them in such a situation is no less than a challenge. Starting a robot-based service in hotels can help in keeping people safe as well as bring the business back on track. A new study claimed this.

Researchers from the University of Surrey, UK, talked to 19 hotel HR experts to identify the challenges after the lockdown opens. He said that robotic services are used as an effective option to increase the efficiency and productivity of hotel activities, but even then they will face challenges such as high cost, significant changes in the organizational structure and culture of the hotel. The study, published in the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, says that due to the increasing use of robotic technology, it is very important for us to maintain a balance between humans and robots.

In their statement, the researchers said that due to Corona in March, the world economy has become in a bad shape. Hotel businesses are badly affected. To bring many industries back on track, their functioning needs to be changed. Tracy Xu, the lead author of this study from the University of Surrey, said that the use of robotic service is increasing in the hotel industry. However, this process can be accelerated further. After the ban is lifted, when the managers plan to start the hotel, adopting robotic service can be the best and safe step.
