New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader Ajay Maken has targeted Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal over the beautification of his residence. Ajay Maken has said that a total of Rs 171 crore has been spent on Kejriwal's palace, not Rs 45 crore. He claimed that even the officers' houses were not spared in order to expand Kejriwal's residence. Ajay Maken said that, to spread Kejriwal's palace, the houses of officers were demolished. Also, 21 flats were bought for those officers in CWD Sports Village. The cost of each of these flats has been estimated at Rs 6 crore. This amount should also be added to the expenses of Kejriwal's palace. In a press conference, Congress leader Ajay Maken said that to show himself as a common man, Kejriwal wears clothes bigger than his size, keeps a one-rupee pen and wears slippers. He said that former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was an example of real simplicity. Ajay Maken claimed that there was no mention of Rs 45 crore or Rs 171 crore spent on the Chief Minister's residence in Delhi's budget. He also said that by flouting the rules, Kejriwal demolished the heritage building and made it a 2-storey building. During this, 28 trees were cut. In a harsh manner, the Congress leader said that, by giving an affidavit, the house of Kejriwal, who calls himself a common man, has curtains worth lakhs and marbles worth crores. The Congress leader said that the first complaint about Kejriwal's liquor scam was also made by the Congress. Kejriwal government is corrupt, who built his own palace worth 171 crores, what kind of common man is he? Why is Kejriwal silent now about Lokpal? Every party should understand the real character of Kejriwal. Kejriwal is using corruption money against Congress and strengthening BJP.
