23 percent corona vaccine destroyed in the country till April 11, shocking revelation by RTI

New Delhi: New information has raised the government's concerns amid reports of a corona vaccine shortage. It has been reported that 23 percent of the corona vaccine in the country has been destroyed till April 11. Significantly, the states of Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Punjab, Manipur, and Telangana are at the forefront of vaccine wastage. An RTI filed over the vaccine responded that 44.78 lakh doses of the 10.34 crore vaccine doses used by states have been wasted.

Significantly, on the one hand, vaccine scarcity is taking place in many states of the country. On the other hand, there are some states that are constantly wasting the vaccine. A recent RTI shows that 23 percent of vaccine supplements in the country have been wasted till April 11. Tamil Nadu has the highest vaccine wastage. 12.10% has been wasted here till April 11. Second is Haryana with 9.74%. This has been followed by an 8.12 percent vaccine in Punjab, 7.80 in Manipur, 7.55 percent in Telangana.

There are some states and Union Territories in the country where there has been no wastage of vaccines. According to the information received, there has been no wastage of vaccines in Kerala, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Goa, Daman and Diu, Andaman, and Nicobar Island, and Lakshadweep. The vaccination campaign started in the country on January 16. People over the age of 45 are currently being vaccinated in the country.
