‘Run for Life’ with Mitesh Dubey: A Robust Athlete with An Ablaze Soul

Where there’s a will, there’s a way

Beautiful and motivational words by a dedicated athlete who is set to inspire the youth for fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Pandemic time not only made us unsocial but also physically inactive. Now it’s time to come out of home and give some movement to your inert muscles, at least a healthy RUN.

Keeping this in mind and towards exploring the limits of the human body a young dynamic man from Mumbai, Mitesh Dubey (26), started his RUN from Mumbai’s Powai lake to Delhi on October 20th, 2021, and he is currently running through the streets of Rajasthan and expected to reach the capital by within this week.

He is a Health Expert, Diet Consultant, Reader, rational thinker, and an Explorer in many ways. We wish him all the best in his run towards making India come back to normal life and indulge in some routine physical activities to Stay Fit, Stay Healthy. Let us see what the young athlete has to say and hear his experience throughout his phenomenal journey.

The last lockdown, when I got a chance to sit back as the whole world and introspect, one of the things that were the most disturbing to watch was people across the country running back to their homes, hundreds and thousands of miles away.

Amidst the havoc, it somewhere left me inspired…inspired to browse, to explore, to get away from this life which is so dependent on variables apart from nature & us. I had traveled earlier, but…this was some other feeling, which finally made me decide something.

I’m Mitesh Dubey, a resident of Powai, Mumbai. Always interested in all sorts of physical activities, sports, and running, one of my most favorites!

In college, I got a chance to join NCC and since then I’ve had a craving for doing something different and something that inspires others to improve, their mindset, their lifestyle, and their health.

The decision I made post lockdown was to run across India. Mumbai to Delhi because I have people, I can seek help from on the way and yes, it might sound a bit strange to you like my Friends and Family.

I work in the film industry, so my schedule is always gone for a toss! I wondered if I’d ever get a chance to practice for this big step I’m planning to take and trust me, it requires a lot of preparation….

I started finding time in the middle of my schedule, warming up my body for this big challenge.

Finally, the day was the 20th of October when I commenced my run, from Powai to Vasai a 42 km run. The past week had been really hectic as I had been shooting for commercials, so my body didn’t get enough time to recover and I didn’t even have time to pack properly…but I just had to start, and I did.

I took a day off to recover after my first run, rested on the 21st of October, and then did Vasai to Manor, a 48 km run. The next day 23rd October was a 37km run from Manor Dapchari and the next day I left there to reach Vapi Charnaka, a 35 km run.

On my 13th day of the run, 2nd November 2021 I’ve reached Rajasthan! Makes me feel proud of myself…a little but very important to keep going.

About my experience, the passers-by keep appreciating my journey, giving me some sort of strength to keep going and make me forget about the destination altogether. I carry a small bag with some chocolates, energy bar/drink, and one extra pair of my running costume which I keep washing every night where I halt and rest.

My plan is to do 10kms in an hour which is usually slowed down by the harsh sunlight, but still, I finish 5-6kms at least.

I try to eat as healthy as possible at roadside/highway dhabas…better to see them cook your food live…It's mostly hard but I try my best to have one healthy meal a day. The problem however is me looking for hotels/lodges as most of them aren’t listed on the internet and quite a task when I’m absolutely tired and my body needs rest.

Hospitals as well…haven’t found any good ones from Mumbai to Gujarat border and the constant burns and blisters I get, need some sort of supervision by good doctors.

But there’s no complaining, I want to inspire the youngsters to utilize their body and youth in doing something good, for Mother Nature, for their country, for their families, for their people, and most importantly…for themselves.

I’d be more than thankful if I can get at least 10 people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Take good care of yourself,

See you on the Road,

Run India Fit India Gear up for a healthy Life.

Mitesh.
