S.Africa pace bowler Nortje ruled out of India Test series

Anrich Nortje, a South African pace bowler, has been ruled out of the three-match Test series against India, which begins on Boxing Day at SuperSport Park on December 26.

On Tuesday, Cricket South Africa (CSA) issued a squad update on Twitter, stating, "Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the three-match BetwayTestSeries due to a persistent injury (Ambulance symbol)." It also stated that no replacement would be brought in for the 28-year-old right-arm fast bowler, who bowled some of the fastest deliveries for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Nortje, who has played 12 Tests and taken 47 wickets in 21 innings, is one of the world's most feared bowlers, and his absence would be devastating to the South African team.
