SP leader and his son shot dead, police involved in investigation

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Chhote Lal Diwakar (50) and his son were shot dead on Tuesday in Bahjoi police station area under Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. The video of the controversy and murder started on the road being constructed in the village is also becoming increasingly viral on social media.

Superintendent of Police Yamuna Prasad said that a road was being constructed under MGNREGA in Shamshoi village under Bahjoi police station area and taking it there was a dispute between Chhote Lal Diwakar and Savinder about the matter and Bullets were fired in which Chhote Lal Diwakar (50) and his son Sunil Kumar (28) died.

He said that some people have been detained in this case and three teams have been formed to nab the accused. Former MP Dharmendra Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He has said that "Chhote Lal Diwakar was the hard-working leader of our party, he was also given a ticket from Chandausi assembly by the party in 2017 but this seat went into the alliance."
