Shiv Sena alleges, BJP engaged in UP elections instead of fighting Corona

Mumbai: Shiv Sena has claimed through its mouthpiece Saamana on Wednesday that the BJP is engaged in exercises to improve its image and win next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly elections instead of tackling the Covid 19 epidemic. Saamna said the BJP has shifted its focus to Uttar Pradesh after failing to win the West Bengal assembly elections.

Shiv Sena has also claimed that PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath have held a meeting to discuss 'Mission Uttar Pradesh'. Criticizing the BJP, Shiv Sena has said, "It seems as if all the issues in the country have been resolved and the job of declaring elections and fighting them is left, of course, elections are important in parliamentary democracy, but is elections a priority in the present situation?"

Saamana says the BJP is working to improve its poor image because it did not perform much well in the UP panchayat elections. Saamna claims that in view of Covid 19, there was a demand to postpone elections in Assam, West Bengal and other states or hold them in the same phase, but West Bengal went to polls in eight phases, causing the corona virus to spread not only in West Bengal but across the country.
