Shiv Sena hits out at BJP, asks why no Bharat Ratna to Savarkar yet

Mumbai: Shiv Sena has now retaliated a day after the Congress targeted CM Uddhav Thackeray for silence on criticism of Congress freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. Shiv Sena on Monday asked why BJP has not given Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar till now? Let us know that Maha Vikas is an ally of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra government. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is the third ally in this coalition.

Shiv Sena's chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said that the highest civilian honor of the nation should be given to Bharat Ratna 'the great and Hindutva leader' Savarkar. Let us tell you that during the Shiv Sena's annual Dussehra rally, on Sunday, the party chief Uddhav Thackeray gave his address in Savarkar Hall in Dadar area instead of the huge Shivaji Park due to the situation of coronavirus epidemic.

State BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay later accused the Shiv Sena of compromising with Hindutva for power. Upadhyay said that Uddhav Thackeray did not utter a word on the criticism of Savarkar by the Congress and now he had to address the Dussehra rally from Savarkar auditorium. Reversing his remarks, Raut said on Monday that the Shiv Sena has never been silent on issues related to Savarkar and will never do so.
