6 veteran leaders elected to 'advise' Congress, Sonia Gandhi formed special committee

New Delhi: Congress's interim president Sonia Gandhi has made huge organizational changes in the Congress on Friday. Sonia Gandhi has released Ghulam Nabi Azad, Motilal Vora, Ambika Soni, Mallikarjun Kharge as General Secretary of AICC and restructured CWC. Along with this, P Chidambaram, Randeep Surjewala, Tariq Anwar and Jitendra Singh have been included in the CWC regularly.

Sonia Gandhi has also constituted a six-member special committee to help in organizational matters. Apart from this, the Central Election Committee of AICC has also been reorganized. Madhusudan Mistry has been appointed its chairman, while Rajesh Mishra, Krishna Bayer Gowda, S Jatimani and Arvinder Singh Lovely have been included as its members. The Central Election Committee will elect the next national president of the party.

AK Antony, Ahmed Patel, Ambika Soni, KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik and Randeep Surjewala have been made members of the special committee. These 6 members of the special committee will assist Sonia Gandhi in organizational and operational matters. Rahul Gandhi's impression in this organizational change in Congress is clearly visible. After the latest changes, most of the new secretaries are known as his close aides, including general secretaries Surjewala, Ajay Maken, Jitendra Singh and KC Venugopal.
