This country takes historic decision in favor of women

Khartoum: Sudan has decided to stop Genital Mutilation of women, bypassing radical Islamic policies. Non-Muslims will now be allowed to drink alcohol privately in the country. Sudan is included in those countries where the circumcision rate of women has been very high.

Announcing reforms in radical Islamic policies nearly 30 years later, Sudan's justice minister Nasredeen Abdulbari said the government was focusing on ending laws that violate human rights. In view of this, the circumcision of women has been banned. Non-Muslims will now be allowed to drink privately. According to an estimate, about 3% of Sudan's population is non-Muslim.

Former President Jafar Nimiri banned liquor in the country after the implementation of Islamic law in 1983. Omar al-Bashir, who was in power for nearly three decades, was ousted from power last year. The new government then promised to create a new Sudan, with promises of favoritism, ending laws violating human rights, and establishing peace with rebels.
