SC to hear Ahmed Patel's plea on 23 September

New Delhi: On September 23, a hearing will be heard on the petition of Congress leader Ahmed Patel, considered to be the most talented of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2017 amid the heavy political drama. BJP candidate Balwant Singh Rajput, who stood against him, filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court challenging his election. Patel has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Ishi's petition.

The bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice SA Bobde and Justice SA Nazir agreed after hearing the plea of senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing for Patel. Singhvi said that the hearing is going to be held on September 27 in the High Court. Singhvi and senior advocate Devdutt Kamat said that a hearing in the apex court is necessary before further proceedings can begin in the High Court.

The arguments in the High Court are in the final stages. In the apex court, Patel has challenged the election petition filed in the High Court. The lawyers said that the proceedings in the High Court need to be stopped until the apex court decides the election petition.
