Big relief to Mamata Banerjee from Supreme Court, refuses to hear Governor's petition

Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has got relief from the top court. The apex court on Friday refused to hear a petition seeking direction to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to remove CM Mamata Banerjee from the post. The petitioner has been asked to go to the High Court. In December last year, CM Mamata Banerjee had demanded a referendum on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) under the supervision of the United Nations.

In the petition, against the same demand of Mamata Banerjee, she was demanded to be removed from the post of CM. The apex court has said in its judgment that we are not denying that it is not ego. A petition filed by Tamil Nadu social organization Indian Makkal Mandram chief Varakki against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she demanded a UN-referendum test against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
