Big blow to BJP, two leaders join TRS

Hyderabad: The BJP has suffered a setback. In fact, the TRS has got two leaders from the backward community on its side. The list includes former Telangana Legislative Council chairman K Swamy Goud and prominent Telangana activist Dr Dasoju Shravan. Both have become part of the TRS's new strategy to weaken the BJP. At the same time, there is also the exact revenge against the saffron party for breaking former MP Bura Narsaiah Gaur. In fact, by-elections are going to be held in the Munugode assembly seat of Telangana, for which BJP, TRS and Congress are trying every bet.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, well aware that a significant chunk of voters in Munugode belong to backward classes, is understood to have engaged ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao for fishing bigger than the BJP. Another backwards-class leader and former MLA Budida Bikshmaiya Goud also switched over to the TRS from the BJP two days ago. Yes, and he gave the message that backward class leaders not only from Mungode but also from across the state are joining TRS.

The TRS, on the other hand, says it alone will deliver justice to the community. Chief Minister KCR took stock of Munugode's situation after returning from Delhi on Wednesday and planned to speed up efforts to strengthen the TRS's prospects in the bypoll field. In fact, Chandrasekhar Rao is clearly very keen to identify those who were active in the Telangana movement and persuade him to switch sides in the wake of criticism that deserted him after coming to power in 2014.
