New Delhi: After the completion of the election for the post of National President of the Congress, the struggle for posts in the party has now intensified. New President Mallikarjun Kharge will formally take office on October 26. It is reported that with this, he is preparing for a major change at the organisational level in Congress. However, there has been no official word from the party about this.

According to media reports, 80-year-old Kharge will improve several departments, including the Congress Working Committee (CWC), after assuming office. Along with this, senior leaders will select a new team in the All India Congress Committee (AICC), including general secretaries and secretaries. Now the leaders have intensified the exercise for a general secretary (organisation) in AICC. At present, the post is being handled by KC Venugopal. Media reports quoted sources as saying that the post could be given to the north Indian leader as the Speaker (Kharge) is from South India.

There is a possibility that Kharge may call a full session of the AICC by the end of this year. The special thing is that during that time the elections of the CWC are proposed, in which 12 members will be elected. About 1400 members of AICC will elect CWC members. It is also being said that Kharge will also make appointments to the top posts of AICC to unite his team in the CWC elections. The 23-member CWC plays the most important role in decision-making in the party. Its 12 members will be elected. Whereas, 11 will be nominated. Members attending the plenary session will be elected.

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi, who is taking out the 'Bharat Jodo' yatra from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir, is also preparing to leave his padyatra and come to Delhi. He will attend Kharge's swearing-in ceremony. According to media reports, he is taking a two-day break from the India Jodo Yatra for the Delhi tour. At present, the journey is more than 3500 km long in Andhra Pradesh.
