HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 2,983 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, with health officials conducting nearly one lakh tests in a 24-hour period. Two more deaths have been reported in the state as a result of Covid, bringing the total number of deaths to 4,062. The state government conducted nearly one lakh tests just one day after the Telangana High Court ordered the state government to increase Covid testing. Health officials have analysed more than a lakh samples for the first time since the state saw a spike in Covid cases earlier this month. During the last 24 hours, which ended at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday, a total of 1,07,904 tests were performed. The state Health Department's daily Covid bulletin, on the other hand, does not break down the RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen testing. The number of daily cases climbed by over 22 percent from the previous day. On Monday, the state reported 2,447 Covid instances. The positive rate, on the other hand, fell to 2.76 percent. Greater Hyderabad had the highest number of incidences (1,206), followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (259) and Rangareddy (227). In the Hanamkonda district, the daily count has risen to 118. In the remaining 29 districts, the vote total was in the double digits. During that same 24-hour time, 2,706 persons recovered from the infection.
