The new WhatsApp feature will assist you in avoiding internet outages

USA: With a new update, WhatsApp has started the new year in the same way it ended last year. This time, it's for those of us still bothered by internet outages.

To avoid internet outage, the company has provided proxy support for users around the world. An instruction manual has also been released by WhatsApp to set up a proxy. Check it out!

In recent years, the number of Internet outages has increased dramatically. It has changed from preventive measure to punitive measure. Widespread effects, including those related to economic and human rights, would result from restricting Internet access.

Totalitarian governments now often use this tactic to silence the public. The proxy support of WhatsApp will now be helpful wherever the communication takes place.

Users of WhatsApp will be able to use the app even if their connection to the app's servers is blocked or otherwise thanks to proxy support. The delegates will work through servers set up by volunteers and organizations.

The company claimed that using a proxy "maintains the high level of privacy and security provided by WhatsApp" in a blog post about the feature.

Both iOS and Android devices can use WhatsApp with a proxy. On Android, tap the "three dots" and select Settings from the Chats tab. Under Storage & data > Proxies, select Use proxy.

Click on Set Proxy to enter the proxy address. Click Save. A green tick signifies a successful connection. If the connection is not working then long press to remove the proxy.

Navigate to WhatsApp Settings on iPhone. Next, under Storage & data choose Proxy. Tap Use proxy. After entering the proxy address, tap Save. A green check mark will appear if the connection is successful. Make sure that WhatsApp is being used with the latest version.

According to WhatsApp, proxy support "puts the power in the hands of the people." The company wanted that there should never be an internet outage again in 2023.

It also made reference to the fact that Instagram and WhatsApp are blocked in Iran. WhatsApp said, "We hope this solution will help those in need of secure and reliable communications, even as these shutdowns continue.
