Patna: The man who assaulted Bihar CM Nitish Kumar three days ago has been admitted to a hospital for psychiatric treatment. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manavjit Singh Dhillon said the attacker has been sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), the state's largest public health facility. He said that we did a thorough investigation. Neither the attacker nor any of his family members have any criminal history. As per the instructions, he was first tested at the community health centre, then, he is being subjected to psychological profiling at the PMCH by experts in the locality. The 32-year-old man had attacked CM Nitish in Bakhtiyarpur on the outskirts of the city on Sunday. He was immediately controlled by the security personnel on duty. The Chief Minister had immediately asked the security personnel not to beat up the attacker and try to find out what the matter was with him. Thereafter, the district administration issued a statement revealing that the assailant is a local resident, who had attempted suicide twice and whose mental condition caused his wife to live separately with their children. The administration had also stated that the Chief Minister had ordered no coercive action against the attacker and that his psychiatric rehabilitation was ensured.
