Former Delhi Congress chief Tajdar Babar passes away aged 85

New Delhi: Former MLA former state president of the national capital Delhi Tajdar Babar passed away early this morning at the age of 85, who had been ill for a long time. Congress leader Yasmin Kidwai said through social media, "It is with great sorrow that my grandmother, Delhi Congress leader Tajdar Babar, passed away early this morning. '

She has a son and two daughters in his family. Her son Farhad Suri served as mayor of Delhi Corporation in 2006. At that time, the three corporations of Delhi used to be the same. Tajdar Babur will be buried at Panch Piran Cemetery in Nizamuddin this evening. Earlier, her mortal remains have been kept at the Community Centre in Nizamuddin East to pay their last respects and tributes. All the people will then gather at Nizamuddin police station and her mortal remains will be taken to the cemetery after offering prayers at Kala masjid.

According to information recieved, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will arrive to pay his last respects though it is yet to be ascertained whether he will visit the cemetery or the community centre. Tajdar Babar was the Chairman of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee during the tenure of former PM Indira Gandhi. She also MLA twice from Minto Road assembly constituency, once from Jangpura assembly constituency, known to her as Iron Lady.
