Shark Tank India: Amit Jain Reveals Cheques on the Show Are Symbolic, Not Real

Amit Jain, the face behind Car Dekho, has shed light on the inner workings of the popular TV show Shark Tank India, revealing that the cheques exchanged on the show are merely symbolic. In an interview on YouTube channel, Jain disclosed that the cheques handed to entrepreneurs on the show are not real. He chuckled at the question and said, "Woh cheque toh nakli hote hai bhai!" (Those cheques are fake, brother!) "They are symbolic cheques.

It’s not linked to my account. It has the format made by Shark Tank. It’s personalised, with the company name, my signature, and the amount, but not my bank account! The cheque signifies that a deal has happened. Then the due diligence happens, papers are called, whatever you said on the show will be verified," he explained.

Jain also provided insights into what happens behind the scenes when the cameras are not rolling. He shared that during shorter shoot breaks, the judges gather in the lounge area. "Namita (Thapar) gets her home-cooked food. She’s like the ‘mother’ in the group. So we munch on her food, there’s a small pantry. It’s a small area but there’s a lot of fun that keeps happening. Dance, music, Aman (Gupta) gets his speakers, plays music on full volume and people dance. On the show, you’re competing, not when you’re in the lounge." Furthermore, Jain emphasized his hands-on approach as an investor, revealing that he is deeply involved with the pitches he invests in. He shared that he provides his cell phone number to entrepreneurs, encouraging them to reach out directly.
