Shivpuri: The excise department in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri on Tuesday cracked down on liquor shops and recovered banners and posters put up to reduce the prices of liquor. The excise department had received a tip-off that liquor contractors were selling liquor at their respective shops by reducing the price to dispose of the goods before the march closing. This liquor is being sold by putting up banners and posters to reduce the price. At the same time, it is being said that the liquor contract of all the liquor shops in the city is ending on March 31. Therefore, the liquor contractors are in the process of finishing their goods. Therefore, in a manner contrary to the rules, the liquor contractors had put up banners and posters. It is being said that the contractors are working on the scheme of ending the goods due to termination of the contract before 31st March. Contracts for the new year 2022-23 have not yet been awarded in the same city. Only the identified shops have come up on contract. The figure is also about 40 per cent.
