From PM Modi to Ram Nath Kovind, leaders greeted on Christmas in unique way

New Delhi: Christmas is being celebrated across the world today. People are celebrating it amid corona restrictions. Prayer meetings were held under protocol in churches across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. PM Narendra Modi and several other politicians have greeted the nation on the occasion. PM Narendra Modi tweeted his Christmas greetings. The PM wrote in his tweet, 'Christmas greetings to everyone! We recall the life and great teachings of Jesus Christ, who laid the greatest emphasis on service, kindness, and humility.'’

President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted the people on Christmas Eve. In his congratulatory message, the President said, "On the auspicious occasion of Christmas, I extend my warm greetings to the countrymen, especially my Christian brothers and sisters. On this occasion, let us all resolve to build a society based on the values of justice and harmony by adopting the ideals and teachings of Jesus Christ in our lives. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also greeted everyone on the occasion. He tweeted, "Christmas greetings to everyone. Wish everyone health, happiness, and brotherhood. Christmas is celebrated as Jesus' birthday in most parts of the world. In European countries, people take out processions on this day, where Jesus's tableaux are displayed.

Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted, "May the virtues of Christmas greetings, mercy, peace, love and harmony always prevail. Happy Christmas. There is a tradition in the Christian community that Jesus Christ, Mary, and Joseph were born in Bethlehem. Sextus Julius Africanus first celebrated his birthday on December 25, 221. On Christmas Day, people decorate Christmas trees at home and office.
