Today is the death anniversary of the former President of the country Giani Zail Singh. In 1994, while on his way to Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, his car met with an accident. He was taken for treatment at Chandigarh PGI Hospital, where he passed away. It is said that he had differences with the then Congress leadership on some issues including Operation Blue Star and Postal Bill. That is why Congress has been accused of getting Giani Zail Singh to have an accident.

Now Inderjit Singh, the grandson of the former President, has also given a big statement in this regard. Inderjit Singh has claimed that his grandfather Giani Zail Singh was deliberately killed by accident. In fact, Sardar Inderjit Singh, the grandson of former President Giani Zail Singh, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sometime before the Punjab Assembly elections to be held next year. During this time, he accused Congress of having planned the murder of his grandfather.

Along with this, Inderjit Singh had also said that today his late grandfather's wish has been fulfilled after years. He was heartbroken by the way Congress treated him despite his loyalty. He had said, ''My grandfather wanted me to join the BJP. He had sent me to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani to seek blessings."
