New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre has come out with the Election Law Amendment Bill, 2021 to check bogus voting in elections. During a discussion in the Upper House of Parliament on Tuesday (December 21, 2021), Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien threw the rule book to the Chairman. He was suspended after taking action after his misbehaviour. He has been suspended from the proceedings of the entire winter session. According to the report, Derek O'Brien also spoke for two minutes on the bill before walking out of the Rajya Sabha. The Congress-led Opposition was demanding that the Bill be referred to the Select Committee, but it was rejected by a voice vote. The opposition maintained that the bill violates the privacy of voters. Talking about Derek O'Brien's misbehaviour, The Speaker of the Upper House, Dr Sasmit Patra, on his statement against the Election Law (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the House today, said, "Derek O'Brien had raised the question of order.'' On which the Deputy Chairman gave the ruling. According to Patra, the rule book could have been felt by the asana, the general secretary or anyone. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has termed it as an insult to the country. However, the Bill has also been passed by the Rajya Sabha. In this case, Derek O'Brien said, "The last time I was suspended from the Upper House was when the government was passing agricultural laws. We all know what happened after that. He was suspended today in protest against the BJP. Today, I have been suspended when the BJP is making fun of democracy and forcibly passing the Bill. The Bill is also expected to be discarded soon.'' When 18-year-old girl can choose PM, why can't she get married?
