Amit Shah accuses Bengal government in virtual rally

KOLKATA: While addressing the West Bengal mass dialogue rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reminded state CM Mamata Banerjee of the state's rites, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) also reacted sharply. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) reminded Amit Shah of the incident of Vidyasagar's statue being demolished. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions on Shah's rally.

Addressing the rally through video conferencing, the Home Minister said that the Bengal where Ravindra Sangeet was heard, is shaking with bomb blasts today. He also said that today's Bengal is numb with gunshots, killings and screams of people. Holding the Mamata-led Trinamool government responsible for all these things, Amit Shah said that the BJP wants Bengal to be Sonar Bangla. BJP wants to make Sanskrit Bengal.

On the statement made by Amit Shah, Trinamool tweeted and reminded Vidyasagar's statue-breaking incident. The Trinamool Congress wrote in a tweet that, 'Amit Shah, who himself put India's inclusivity in jeopardy, is talking about the rites of Bengal. Do they not remember that it was Mamata Banerjee who got Vidyasagar's statue corrected, which was broken by her people before her (Amit Shah's) eyes.
